Why I Started Desmaryay
I love what I do! More importantly, I love the people I get to work with.

Following 12 busy years at Fortune 500 companies, I met my husband Jason who moved me around the world with the United States Navy. We — along with our two creative, fun daughters and very quirky gray cat — live in beautiful northern Colorado.

It’s here we waited out a global pandemic, and I discovered my spark for starting Desmaryay. You see, while I loved the corporate world, it can be impersonal and slow to adapt to change. I wanted my skills and expertise in finance, sales, and business efficiency to make a positive, measurable difference. Small businesses have the ability to pivot quickly and results are almost immediate. Plus, small business owners have so much passion for what they do — their businesses are so much more than numbers on a page — which makes celebrating their successes all the more personal and fulfilling.

As a consultant, I get to work with entrepreneurs and small businesses facing the same challenges: broken processes, employee turnover, unpredictable cash flow, culture issues, and irregular or unreliable administrative support. I take an overhead view of their entire process, and implement creative and efficient solutions where they are most impactful. This alleviates stress on business owners and adds a little “Yay!” back to their work day! Because now, instead of worrying about a million small details, they can focus on investing in their business in the ways they enjoy, like increasing billable hours, networking, marketing, or simply spending more time with the people and activities they love.
